Review Of Women's Pay And Employment Equality And Equal Rights In The Workplace.parts 1

by: Caroline Walker

In April 2001 the Government commissioned an independent review of women's pay and employment. The conclusions show that there have been great changes since the Equal Pay Act 1970 was introduced, but that there is still significant disparity between status and pay for men and women.
Women's earnings are estimated to be on average 18% less than men and this is despite the fact that women are overtaking men in their levels of education and qualifications. The government believes that this has a significant impact on the economy and without action, the education and skills of women will be a wasted resource.
Because of decreasing fertility rates and increasing life expectancy employers will have to look to under utilised groups within the labour market. This means finding new ways of recruiting, retaining and developing women. Employers are therefore encouraged to retain information on recruitment, career development paths, retention rates and reasons for leaving as well as information on pay as only by referring to this data will employers be able to see whether their workplace really is 'female friendly'. Very few employers believe that they directly discriminate against women (or that they discriminate at all) however by gathering this information they will have an objective picture of their workplace and whether they are, in reality, implementing policies and practices which negatively impact on women in indirect ways.
The key areas employers should be looking at are:
  • The recruitment process – is it fair and objective. Are false assumptions made?
  • Objective basis for promotion – are people selected on the basis that they work long hours? Is this a reasonable basis for promotion? This will negatively impact on women who usually have primary responsibility for childcare.
  • Is there adequate training for women returning to work after maternity leave?
  • What's the "culture" at work? Does it involve lots of out of hours drinking/days on the golf course/late night client entertaining?
  • What about hidden pressures to work long hours/unsocial hours?
Another area the Kingsmill Report focused on was transparency in the workplace. Are salaries kept secret or are they a matter of public record?

Still More Behaviors for a Successful Job Search

 by: Gordon Walter

I have conducted hundreds of employment interviews for positions ranging from manufacturing shop floor to the executive level. After awhile you begin to notice that successful candidates did certain things that contributed to their positive outcome. Likewise, unsuccessful candidates had certain other actions in common which led to their not being chosen or did not help them.
Hiring managers tell me they can see if someone is right for the organization minutes after the handshake. In a recent Robert Half survey, executives polled said they typically form an opinion of a candidate within the first ten minutes of an employment interview. With such a short amount of time to interact with a hiring manager, what can the candidate do to achieve a positive response?
The most macho of people can be daunted and undone when it comes to facing a job interview. Like public speaking, many have interviewing on their list of their top five most dreaded things to experience. Is it possible to embrace or almost enjoy job interviews? Answer: yes. Following are some behaviors to keep in mind that should help maximize your potential for a successful outcome:
Be cool. A great way to make a good first impression in an interview is to master the interview butterflies. I agree, this can be very hard, but you must try. Feeling stress is a natural response to the interviewing process, and most candidates experience it at some level. The trick is not to show it.
Leverage. Though most aspects of the interview are outside a candidate's control, it is important to leverage the things that are in your power. One example: give yourself a time cushion, and plan to arrive at the interview destination 10-15 minutes early. The consequences of arriving late to an interview are huge. Even if only a few minutes late, you will arrive breathless and already on the defensive. Your goal for the interview is to appear confident and in control, and the need to give excuses for tardiness is inconsistent with that goal. Planning for some extra time in case you get lost or find unexpected traffic travel conditions also allows you to compose yourself and relax a little. Sweaty palms also do not help achieve your goal of a confident persona. Practice at getting yourself to gear down through use of long, slow breathing and other time-tested relaxation techniques.
Anticipate questions. Another thing successful job candidates do is to anticipate questions they are likely to be asked, and give pre-thought to the answers. This bit of preparation will be a confidence booster and stress reliever. Whether any or all of those specific questions are asked, many of the answers often prove useful with respect to other questions. The more pre-work you do for the interview, the more it calms nerves.
No matter what your career experience, doing these behaviors will help you get an edge over the competition for that new job.

Top 10 Ways to Find Job Effectively And Quickly.parts 1

A few years ago finding job after studies was a difficult task. But now, it seems to be Simple! Even though finding job became easy, it is necessary to keep our job searching skills up to date since the ways to find a job today have changed from the way that they were years ago.
It is necessary to use as many different ways as possible for searching job, instead of concentration on few methods. Less concentration leads to restriction of opportunities in job search.
1. Networking: We all know about networking. Social networking is one of the biggest phrases on the internet. But let's not forget the old fashioned way that is person to person and phone networking. They really can make big difference. Since not everyone feels networking as comfortable way.
When you search for a job, network with everyone you know and never leave the meeting without asking for a referral to more people. The majority of successful candidates find their dream jobs through networking but not by sitting back and waiting for job boards to deliver offers to their desktop. Start paying more attention to people around you. Tell them what you're looking for and find out who they know or how they might be able to help. Expand your network by joining professional associations and attending local events.
2. Job Sites: Post your resume to all popular job sites like monster.com. Find industry specific job sites (Example: Dice.com for tech jobs) and find jobs here and apply to those jobs.
3. News Papers Classified ads: Newspapers are often the first place people turn when they start their job search. It makes sense since newspapers are a good place to find local openings. The job opening section is filled with a number of ads and fewer real jobs run in these listings. Though it takes time, but can provide you an advantage over those who are not willing to do so.
4. Use Social Media in job search: Social media is right now one of the best ways to find a job. Most of the recruiters and employers have quit traditional methods of searching for a perfect candidate. No longer are they spending their time going through job portals, but they also search for interesting candidates on social media sites, blogs, forums and professional networking sites like Face book, Linked In, twitter and so on.
5. Job fairs: Now a day, one way of companies to recruit new juniors, experts and executives are job fairs, or job conventions. Employers bring information about their company and look for eager applicants
Job fairs are becoming a more common method of entry level recruiting and initial screening. For many students, job fairs provide a freebie opportunity to meet with multiple employers that you might not be able to access any other way.
Job fairs have a set of rules and protocols all their own. But if you understand how to effectively work within the system, you can easily double or triple your productivity and effectiveness.
6. Prepare Effective Resume: Keep in mind, First impression is the best impression. With only a few seconds to capture the attention of the reader and show your extensive skills, you need to make the most of your resume.
When you're in job search, you need to be prepared for all possibilities. So definitely you want to have a resume ready and that can make you select at first glance.
Also remember to consider resume keywords, since many resumes that are submitted online are used both for the present job and future openings. And many companies keep the resumes in database that you submit. Your cover letter too needs to quickly let them know who you are and what makes you the exact match for this particular job opening.

Employment Screening Services

by: Gandhi Mohandas

This verification helps to know the background information of the candidate for the interest of shareholders, customers and employees. Companies can save unnecessary expenses like mitigate employment risk, reduce recruitment, training and retraining costs through background check. More importantly, reliable choice for corporation promotes greater efficiency. It has been widely recognized that background check provides timely and quality information of an employee for corporation to make smarter business decision.
This process involves identity, education, criminal records, professional certification, working experience, disciplinary records, labor arbitration record, working ability, working performance and package range verification. Many enterprises thought it would be inappropriate to investigate the candidate recommended. But if you investigate their background without authorization and the candidate finally knows it, it would be better letting him/her know in advance. So it is preferable to have the candidate's authorization before conducting employment screening. The righteous who has handled true resume will definitely not refuse being checked. These tests include the third party survey also because it is a laborious and time-consuming operation so that HR departments cannot guarantee the timeliness and effectiveness of the investigation.
For landlords and letting agents we carry out tenant background checks including financial checks, identity checks, address verification, and overall risk ratings. For employers we conduct financial checks, identity checks, address verification, and bespoke services including criminal record history (based on type of employment).

HR department is lack of access to the most real comment for the candidate course of the competition among corporations. In addition; professional organizations have a wealth of information resources, the fastest to get the most accurate first-hand information. Professional organizations have the well trained investigators who can operate in comprehensive communication skills which result in the most objective report for the customers in compliance with the integrated rule.
All this is done for:-
1. To avoid the unnecessary loss of property and reputation,
2. To provide support for human resource ,
3. To select the most qualified employee after a better understand of the candidates' profession ethnics,
4. To evaluate the Loyalty and professional attitude of the candidate.
In one of the case:
HR department recommended "Smith" as the Administrative Assistant to the Administrative Department after a standard recruitment process. Thinking of Smith has five years of administrative experiences in high-tech enterprises and excellent performance during the interviewing process. However, only after a month, the executive manager of the Department notified the HR department that: Smith should be dismissed for not meeting the requirements of the job in probation.
Hr department was so astonished at this matter that they find the truth after re-reading the resume and communicating with him. It is true that Smith has 5-year-rich administrative experience, but there are 4 years in a foreign representative office whose relative responsibilities are single and simple. After the relocation of the representative office, he switches to a high-tech company to do administrative assistant. Unfortunately he was dismissed in the probation for not used to the high-intensive work. All these experiences were perfectly packaging and concealed through the interview.

Within any medical profession there are certain specialties an individual might pursue. Finding a job in a chosen specialty means being able to apply education and experience in an area that most interests the medical professional. The field of physical therapy is no exception. There are specialties for skilled nursing, brain injury cases, and prosthetic use, among other things. Of all the specialties, one of the more intriguing is in the area of sports. Physical therapy employment in sports-related environments has been gaining in popularity among PT professionals. In a good number of physical therapy employment opportunities, the therapist takes a job knowing he or she will be doing most of their work with people who already have mobility issues. These issues may be due to illness, accident, or any number of other causes. But in bringing physical therapy into the locker room, practitioners are learning ways to help athletes perform better at a reduced risk of injury. In other words, helping them prevent injuries to begin with.
One example is hamstring injuries among track runners and football players. Coaches have long taught such athletes to increase their stride and speed by extending their forward leg and pulling the rest of their body forward. Mechanically, this sounds like a reasonable proposition. Yet physical therapy has shown that the hamstring of the forward leg becomes fully extended at peak stride, making it a high risk for injury as it contracts on the way through. The hamstring is simply not designed for such stress. An alternative training method has been developed in order to continue producing the same results without the high risk of injury. This method is simplistic in similarity to the pull method - in fact, it's just the opposite. Athletes using it are trained to push with the back leg while extending the forward one, taking the stress off the extended hamstring.
Through this simple analysis of running and body function, physical therapy is able to reduce the need for injury rehab by reducing the number of hamstring injuries. This is but one example of the exciting opportunities in sports-related physical therapy employment. The opportunity to help injured athletes return to the game, side-by-side with teaching them new methods to avoid further injury, is attractive. It a physical therapist's dream come true. Not that working with ambulatory or surgical patients is any less rewarding; but for therapists who have an affinity for sports, it is a great opportunity. Finding sports-related physical therapy employment is not as easy as some other specialties. The sheer number of PT job seekers in proportion to the available sports jobs makes it difficult to land one. But therapists willing to start in another area until a sports job becomes available will find they still gain a lot of experience and knowledge that will be helpful throughout their careers. If you're a PT looking to find work in the sports industry, contact a medical staffing agency for more information. They will be abreast on all available physical therapy employment opportunities.

Job Status and Credit Status, a CloseRelationship

 by: Jones Williams

Really? The answer unfortunately is yes, your credit status can have an impact on your ability to get a job in the current economy. How do I know this? Real world examples.
I have a part time accountant and she is a good employee. If I had the need for a full time resource, then she would not have to be out looking for other part time work. My employee, we'll call her Sally, has over 30 years of experience as an accountant, backed by a 4 year degree from an accredited state university. Sally can crunch numbers, manage her own time, provide three decades worth of valuable advice, and she could probably balance the Federal budget if given the chance. Unfortunately Sally has had a couple of bad years. She lost her spouse, paid all of his medical bills in full, and then started moving around the country to try and support herself. A couple of bad moving decisions coupled with the housing crash and Sally's credit looks like a score at the FIFA tournament in South Africa. Not real high.
Job Search
So, Sally has been looking for work since I have known her over the last seven months. Here is the reality out there on the streets. Sally can't sell shoes at an outlet mall. Sally can not be an accountant anywhere that runs credit checks because she doesn't have any credit. Sally cannot re-establish her credit without full time work. This is a case of where the metrics are wrong. If any employer would meet Sally face to face, hear her story, and see her real worth as a person, then they would see what I see. While Sally is not the best employee I have ever had, she is worth more than an instant "NO" because of her credit score.
Employment
If you are having trouble finding employment, and it doesn't matter if you are a seasoned professional or a green sales associate, check your credit score now. Get an Equifax 3-in-1 Credit Report Now! Even if you can't fix your credit before you get that new job, talk openly about your credit with any potential employers. People making hiring decisions like honesty. I swear. Bring your credit score up in the interview and explain your situation. If you don't, it might look like you are trying to slide by the interview processing with something to hide.
That is my perspective, I would love to hear yours.

Seeking A New Job In The 21st Century

by: Frank Bilotta

When I got out of college 12 years ago there was only one traditional way of applying for employment. After combing the classified section of the local paper I would form a list of jobs I was interested in applying for. I recall going to the store to purchase good quality paper with matching envelops and mailing each company I was interested in working for a copy of my resume and cover letter. After a trip to the Post Office, my job was done and the waiting game began. In some rare cases a follow up call to a HR representative at the company was in order to make sure that they have received my resume. The entire process was slow, expensive, and very time consuming.
I have been very fortunate being employed for the same company for the past 12 years. I guess I was lucky, but also understand this to be very rare in today's society. With that said, I have been out of the job hunting loop for many years Recently I began to search for a new career. It was time for a change and I needed to start to learn the new way of applying for jobs in this extremely competitive environment.
Today finding employment is very different. I am not even sure if people would still "snail mail" a resume to a potential employer. Today a job seeker uses the power of the Internet to reach potential employers around the world in a fraction of the time.
I spent a few hours updating my decade old resume and began to research online help. I came across companies like Monster.com and Careerbuilder.com that offered assistance in posting resumes at no charge. This was a pretty cool experience. I learned that I could search for jobs by type, location, or even salary ranges. This sure beats going line by line in the local paper! This seemed to good to be true. I was sure I would find a job in record time. I was even able to apply for jobs without reading the description by using their "auto reply" feature. I spent a few days posting resumes and then sat back and waited for my phone to ring and for a company to offer me the job of a lifetime.
A few days pasted and I was disappointed by how few phone calls I had received. I guess I had under estimated the poor economic status of the country and how record unemployment rates effects finding a job. When I stopped to think about how many people are applying for the same position that I was interested in I quickly realized that I might have to take the next a step in finding a new job.
A friend of mine told me about additional websites that he felt might help with my search. He sent me an invitation to join his Linked In professional network. This proved to be the best move I had made. Within a few short days I was "linked" to dozens of young professionals that were able to help each other find work through contacts they had made. In this environment I learned that you almost need an "in" or an introduction to find work. I have been on several interviews over the past few weeks. I have not found the right fit for myself yet, but I am confident that opportunity is not far down the road.
I live in rural America and there are very few Internet providers in the town where I live. The use of the high speed Internet was critical in my search for a new career. I was a dial-up customer for years until I signed on with a company called WildBlue. The service is much faster and reliable than the dialup I was using. I was pleasantly surprised that the cost of the service was reasonable and the service has been great. I highly recommend that if you are looking for a new job, get yourself a reliable Internet provider. Chances are the Internet is where you will find your next career opportunity. Don't make the already stressful task of looking for employment worse by doing so with a dialup Internet connection.

Employment Insurance Benefits in Canada

by: kevin Smith

It is great to know that a Canadian who has lost his job is protected by the Employment Insurance, a federal program that provides financial assistance to citizens who have lost their jobs.  This program is governed by the Employment Insurance Act R.S. 1996 c. 23, and run by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC). It is similar to other insurance types, during your work you need to pay premiums to be entitled to benefits. They are related so the more you pay – the more you get. There is also a certain number of rules and limitations for the Employment Insurance.

To qualify for the EI you need to fit three conditions: your work is classified as insurable; you worked a certain number of hours; it was not your fault that you lost your job. As for the first condition almost all the jobs in Canada are insured except for: work for a province government or a government of a foreign country, work for a family member, work for a company of which you are a large shareholder, work on an entirely casual basis. As for the second condition there is a certain qualifying period which is the time since your last EI claim or 52 weeks, whichever is shorter. This number varies from province to province, be sure to check it before you qualify. The third condition is the cause for your work loss. You can receive EI only if you lost your job for a reason beyond your control (f.e. a shortage of work in your field or shortage of work in your field). If you quit your job without cause or you were fired for misconduct. Usually this condition is checked in your Record of Employment.

As for the benefits they are also limited by a strict number of rules. The payments begin right after the claim and are related to your income through your insurance payments. The Act sets the maximum benefit as 55% of your insurable earnings. Also the person can qualify for maternity, child care, compassionate care, and sick leave benefits. There are also a number of conditions that can lead to a loss of the payments. You are paid only for the days when you were capable and available for work, no vacations, no holidays. You must attend special programs of the HRSDC, if you don't you will be disqualified from benefits. Section 27 of the Act also states that during the payment period you are obligated to seek employment. If you fail to accept apply for suitable work or refuse and an offer of suitable Canadian employment, the payments will be ceased. Still if the offered employment had lower wage or less favorable conditions than your previous employment it is not considered a suitable employment.

As all most of the legal spheres the EI sphere also has its appeals and appeal even more than one time. At first you may appeal within 30 days to the Board of Referees under s. 114, if you are not satisfied with the decision you may appeal to an Umpire (usually a Federal Court Judge) within 60 days of the decision.

Employment Personality Test

 by: Angela Borshishz

More companies are practicing the method of giving employment personality tests to prospective applicants. It is their gauge to measure the applicant's personality and character. It could give them a good idea if the applicant has the proper attitude and mind-set to fit into the company's own goals.
Identifying the desirable characteristic traits of an applicant is an important tool in guiding hiring managers how to supervise people who are accountable to them. They would be able to match important traits and skills in key positions that would enable the applicant to handle the responsibilities given them.
The employment personality test would be able to cover important areas that are needed for the job such as the applicant's attitude, disposition, stress levels, sociability and interests. Most of these traits could somehow help determine if the applicant can handle work in any given situation. It would also be a basis if the applicant has a good chance of moving forward to a higher position in the future.
Another important use of the employment job personality test is to know if the applicant has the capability of staying long with the company. Most companies don't want to spend time and effort in hiring people who would be staying only for a few years. One of their main purposes is to hire the right people for the job and who would stay with the company for a very long time. Of course there would be incentives such as training and further development of skills that would add to the reasons why the applicant should stay on.
The employment personality test would make the company feel at ease knowing more about the people they hire. Aside from the usual interviews that they do, hiring companies like to look at the overall package of the applicant in terms of experience, skills, attitude and character. Sometimes, the personality test is given more weight than the others because they believe that the applicant's character would be more important. It is the character which makes the applicant think, decide and perform well in the job.
Though the employment personality test is one of the main pre-employment tools that most hiring companies use, it is not really taken as the sole factor in hiring of applicants. In reality, most hiring managers like to look at the applicant's detailed resume depicting their education, skills and experiences, then do the interview and then have the employment personality test. After thorough comparison with others, the hiring managers would choose the best person for the job.

Design Your Own Employment Test

by: Koil Raj Abraham

Employment Testing is must needed for any kind of organization to get qualified candidates for achieving greater results in smart manner. There are tons of Employment Testing companies available and they all have created their own questionnaires and tests for assessment. This type of common questionnaires cannot access specialized skills or expectation required for a company.

To get 100% qualified candidates, you must create your own Employment Test and assess them.

Before starting how to create your own Employment Test, you need to know the types of Employee Testing.
Personality tests - Tests individual skills required in aspects of job performance such as leadership and effectiveness in a team environment.
Intelligence tests - Tests of general intelligence required for job performance. More intelligent person is able to perform a given job more efficiently.

Job knowledge tests - Testing specialized knowledge or technical skills.

Situational judgment tests - Scenarios in a multiple choice format questions. Situational judgment items measure the suitability of applicants for employment by assessing their abilities such as problems-solving, service-orientation and achievement-striving.

Different types of assessments may be used for employment testing, including personality tests, intelligence tests, work samples, and assessment centers. Some correlate better with job performance with others; employers often utilize more than one to maximize predictive power.

Just follow these steps to define your own Employee Testing

1. Prepare questions for your employee testing (text, voice, descriptive types, etc). You may need to get these from your technical team or the team where new employees may work with. Load all questions into your online exam software.
Scenario based job specific questions (to test the experience) will be the better choice to test experienced candidates.

2. Group the candidates into Job requirements and create Examinee's profiles.

3. Associate Tests to groups and ask the candidates to take tests. Shortlist and select the profiles for next level.

Advantages of creating your own Employment Testing

* To reduce the recruitment time and cost
* HR Team can easily assess the technical skills of the applicants without
* Investing the effort of the technical panel
* Match organization requirements in the form of assessment.
* Screen the candidates based on actual skills instead of blind resumes

Good luck for your employment success !

Employment As A Correctional Officer

by: Michael Ekman

Across United States, 1.6 million people are incarcerated at any time, whether it is in County jail, State Prison or Federal Prison. This leaves opportunity for Correction Officer Employment. This is a extremely stressful and dangerous job as you deal daily with persons that have committed some of the worst, heinous crimes there are. Average pay for a Correctional Officer is $38,380, but the benefits make up for the low pay. There is room to advance to higher positions on each level. Most Correction Officer Employment acts as Military style.

The pay can vary from State to State as some are much better than others, however, the requirements for that position may, or it may be difficult to obtain employment at this time. Requirements for the Correction Officer Employment on the Federal level may be a Bachelor's degree, 3 years of counseling, assisting or Supervising others or the combo of the two. On County and State level, a High School diploma or GED. Other requirements may include age requirement of either 18 or 21 years old. No felonies may be on your records as a background check is done. During the hiring process, you will be required to complete a drug test and may be subjected to random drug test during your employment. You can take a Criminal Justice classes, but is not needed for some states as all that you need will be taught during On the Job Training.

On the Job Training for Correction Officer Employment may include a 6-8 weeks "boot camp" style training. During this training, the candidate will learn Institutional Policies and Regulations, Operational Policies, Legal Restrictions and Interpersonal Relations. Custody and Security Procedure, Self Defense skills, Firearms training, Gang and Drug training, and physical fitness. A physical fitness test must be passed which includes push ups, sit ups, physical fitness course, and timed distance run. Other training may include Riot, Hostage Situations, response to disturbance, forced cell moves, dangerous confrontations, cell searches and body searches.

Other job functions include log book entries. This is a legal document, so all information must be stated clearly. A Correctional Officer must maintain order in the facility while not only securing the facility but protecting the inmates against each other. An Officer will supervise work assignments and monitor activities while ensuring that all rules and regulations are being followed. Inmates are use to crime and try to get over on Correctional Officers. Many Officers each year are either fired or arrested for bad choices they made by befriending an Inmate.

Correction Officer Employment is one that can not be taken lightly as this could lead to a long term career move. Most facilities either operate on 5 day weeks at 8 hr shifts or some facilities may work 12 hr shifts. Longer hours may be available or required depending on the facility. There are pay offs to the job, knowing that you are the one that is keeping a criminal off of the streets.

What Is Necessary While Employment Screening: A Brief Guide For Employers

by: Khurram Zahid

Hiring a right candidate for a job is of course a daunting task. An employer has to put internal and external resources in order to find a right candidate for available position. Human resource has to shortlist and interview many candidates to find a right person for a job.
In this day and age, a good job has become scarce due to increasing competition in the job market. Therefore, many job seekers not only exaggerate the original information but also add the false information to their credentials.
Verification of the documents provided by the candidate is one necessary task, but verification of other important background checks is also very necessary to place not the right candidate but the perfect candidate. Employee with a clear background increases the reputation of a company, but an employee with doubtful background can only help in dropping the reputation of an organization. Therefore, proper and deep background screening is essential before employing an applicant for a position.
In this small guide, important areas where the background check is necessary will be discussed which will help all the employers around the world to minimize the risk of employment fraud during the employment tenure of an employee.
Previous Employment Verification – You, as an employer, find something which sounds untrue or too good to be true in the profile of a candidate related to previous job description or compensation related matters, the need of previous employment verification arises here. Some people also put fake employment experience from a company which does not actually exist. Therefore, it is necessary to verify the employment history of an employee that what has he been bringing to a job at your company is based on facts and not based on fake information and work experience.
Educational Document Verification – As the job market is getting saturated, many people want to show that they are the most eligible for a specific job. Many people are really eligible and have the real competitive educational background, but some people take the short cut and in fact "buy" educational qualification from some so called accredited university but actually an online scam or diploma mill. Furthermore, some people do not actually attend college or university but they get the degree printed same as the original degree and present it to employer.
For all these reason, employer need to first identify the position of a university or college from a local accreditation authority and then a degree or diploma should be verified from the university/college verification department.
Criminal Record Verification – Minor offences like getting a speeding ticket is negligible and many companies don't even bother to ask about it, but criminal offences like street assault, drunken driving or act of extortion is uncompromiseable. Therefore, criminal record verification should be done properly to avoid serious consequences in the future.
Professional License Verification – When hiring for a professional capacity like medial or law, it is very important to verify their professional licenses to check whether it is genuine or fake. Proper verification is necessary from concern authorities to avoid serious issues in the future.
Financial Background Check – An employee may not be trustworthy enough for an employer if he has previous cases of debt evasion against his name. Employer would not trust him when the matter of finance and cash handling is required.
Conclusion
When all these verifications get done properly, employer and employee both go into a trustworthy and long term relationship that eventually helps greatly in the growth of the company and the employee with the company.

Job Search Efforts Key to Your Employment Case

by: Vee R Tramov

In Ontario if you have lost your job several factors in your legal claim against the employer can decide whether your damages are awarded in full or reduced. We examine the subject of mitigation when it comes to your job search efforts and how they can strenghten or weaken your case.
You've been terminated and have engaged a lawyer to handle your case. You may still be dealing with the emotional effects of losing your job, and the last thing you are thinking about is looking forward and securing new employment.
Your lawyer advises you to begin your job search and to keep details of your efforts. This is because the law references the principle of mitigation that requires dismissed employees to make a concerted effort to find similar employment. In fact, many strong cases have been derailed because the employee has either not made these efforts, or has not kept detailed documentation of their search efforts. In these instances, the damages you can claim may be substantially reduced. Here are some suggestions on how to manage your job search:
1. Keep a hard copy file - you should begin by keeping a detailed file of all the job applications you send out as well as the cold calls or introductory calls you make to prospective employers. Keep a record of dates the applications were sent or the calls were made and the names of the contacts at the companies. The more relevant documentary evidence you can gather, the stronger your case becomes.
2. Track your expenses - you are allowed to claim reasonable expenses you incur in the process of looking for another job. Document and keep all your receipts for expenses such as office supplies, photocopies, transportation, and other relevant expenses.
3. Search often - it's important to demonstrate that your job search efforts are consistent and regular.
4. Build a professional resumé - your resumé and cover letters will become evidence that is used in your case. A clearly inadequate resumé may be referenced as a reason that you have been unsuccessful with your job search efforts.
5. Apply for a number of positions - if you are finding it difficult to find similar positions within your specific area of expertise, you need to broaden your search to include jobs that may be outside of your specialty but might otherwise be acceptable.
6. Follow up - once you've applied for a position or have had an interview, you should follow up with the prospective employer and again, be sure to document the results of your follow-up contact.
7. Outplacement counselling - an outplacement counsellor can assist you in focusing your attention on transitioning into new employment. You should make use of this service, primarily for developing your resumé, polishing your interview skills, and helping you to tap into the hidden job market.

Job Seekers Ten Tips For Getting That Job!

by: Vijay Varute

1. Take responsibility - invest in the blame game and dilute the focus and energy required for getting that job - yes we have a complete absence of political leadership - yes we have a media that feeds off doom and gloom - nothing else but they cannot change your life - only you can choose that reality.
2. Realise that all is not lost - the majority of people cannot answer the following question at an interview "why do you want the job?" Mastery at this question will put you in the top ten per cent.
3. Go for a job in your industry of choice – don't just go for any job energetically interviewers will know that you don't really want it, and will wait for someone who truly does. Be prepared to work at a junior level to follow your dream - it is easier getting up the ladder than in the door.
4. Build a compelling book of evidence that will prove you truly want the job this should include highlighting past experience and Web presence on the topic.
5. Become an expert in your area - follow the 10,000 hour rule invest three hours a day on researching your passion - open your mind to creating not just finding a job.
6. Leverage power of the net to develop expert status -set up google alerts on your topics of interest- develop your own virtual research team for free. So you want to become a motivational speaker – why not set up a Google alert for "motivational speaker!"
7. Imagine attending an interview with expert status in your field - opens up subcontract possibilities - at minimum you have differentiated yourself from the competition.
8. Develop interpersonal skills simply open your eyes and be led by interviewer's body language not your notes - awareness is key - if they are asleep they are asleep! So change strategy or choose to travel the insanity loop where you keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.
9. Too often interviewers recruit those that mirror their own inadequacies or brilliance -so talent doesn't always win the day. Be aware and mirror where they are at.
10. Have faith -true talent will always find a way.

Service and for the Modelling Agency but I would rather spend the money on CD / DVD duplication or printing services because that will definitely make me my money back, but then it won't necessarily make me any less bored. And finally I want to do my music. Right now I don't feel like writing new music but I will think about my websites I guess, because after I have new music, then I will need my website to help promote it. Oh and then lots of marketing again. Gosh!!!!!!
I wish it was a lot easier to get the thing you want. I'd like to be pushing my Music Licensing Service; I'd like to run a Modelling Agency and I'd like to have my music website all set up and ready to go for visitors to start coming and getting involved. When I have plenty of money for ppc advertising I think it will work and then I won't be spending all my time writing these articles for something to do to keep getting me closer to those outcomes. I suppose I need to find something more interesting I can do than writing to promote new business ideas such as Music Licensing Services, and right now it's actually doing the work for my clients, then I will have the money to begin spreading out the commitment from the sites I'm currently running successfully to these new ventures, and once I start getting people interested then, I will know that it's a successful formula I can go ahead with.
